General information

Health insurance is mandatory for students. In addition to health insurance, contents insurance for your belongings, liability insurance for damage to other people’s property, and travel insurance are recommended. Read more about dutch insurances for students.

At EuFlex, claiming hours work digitally. Through Easy flex or through the AFAS app. In the app you can: book hours, view payslips, annual statements, address changes etc. Read more about how the AFAS pocket APP works or how you can activate it on your phone.

Wage tax deduction is a tax credit that ensures you receive more salary. You apply for this through your employer. You fill out a payroll tax statement. Do you have multiple jobs? You can only apply the deduction to one employer. Read more about wage tax deduction for interntaionals.

With the student travel product, you can travel throughout the Netherlands by train, tram, bus, and metro, either free of charge or at a discount. You can choose between a weekly or weekend pass. You are only eligible for this if you are enrolled in a full-time program. Read more about the student travel product.

For university students, the basic grant is a performance-related grant, which is converted into a gift if the degree is obtained within 10 years.
